06.03.2006 May and June were landmark for us as
our USDA-inspected grass-finished lamb was featured as a
seasonal special at
Lake Hotel. This will help future sales and promotion of our
high quality, gourmet lamb product. We thank the Corporation for
the Northern Rockies for they provided Commerce Day back in
January that made our connection with restaurants like Xanterra
possible.
05.15.2006 We met with the USDA approved
butchers where we will be having our lamb butchered.
03.05.2006 We are offering several bred ewelambs
for sale. They have been ultra sounded for pregnancy and are
scheduled to lamb in May. The ram we used is an unregistered
purebred, horned, moorit badgerface Icelandic. He has AI
genetics on both sides of his pedigree (Austri and Haengur). He
also goes back to Saddleback. He was purchased as a feeder
(butcher) lamb, but when he had traveled without shipping
stress, grew up with nice confirmation and growth rate, we
decided to try him out.
The crossbreds for sale are from mothers and grandmothers we
still have in production. Fleeces from these lines have competed
at fiber shows, placed high and sold to hand spinners. We are
offering some registered purebreds for the first time , too.
Their moms have twinning, good mothering and overall qualities
that keep them in production at our ranch today. The ewelamb SRX
640R was acquired in the summer of 2005. She is available for
sale as she does will not fit our meat-producing criteria. She
does, however, have some traits that someone else may need or
want. She is double-patterned: displaying both badgerface and
grey pattern. She is also from AI genetics with Kani and Horvi
on each side, plus multiple lambing traits. She is a triplet and
her grandma was a quad.
As expected we will give a discount for multiple ( 3 or more)
purchases. We do encourage that at least 2 sheep are purchased
to help minimize travel stress, and especially if isolating
before introducing to new flock. Please contact us for more
information regarding discounts.
